The Eagles fell to 1-2 in region play with a tough 14-12 loss in Coffee Co on Friday night.
The Eagles fumbled the ball away on their own 8 yard line on their first play of the game, and the Trojans scored on a TD pass two plays later for a 7-0 lead. Northside was forced to punt on its next possession and Coffee put together their only real drive of the night -- 12 plays/88 yards -- resulting in a 7 yd TD run and a 14-0 lead with 13 seconds left in the first quarter.
The Eagle D would only allow 71 more yards and 1 first down in the remaining 3 quarters. Offensively, the Eagles got 2 second quarter field goals from Cory Munson (2/4 on the night), and Jadin Daniels ran it in from 3 yards out with 1:08 left in the game to cut the lead to 14-12, but the 2 point conversion run failed, and the Eagles suffered another heart-breaking road region loss.
Northside is now 6-3 on the season and 1-2 in Region 1-AAAAAA play, and the Eagles will host the Houston Co. Bears next week at the MAC in the regular season finale.
