The Eagles rebounded from last week's region loss to Valdosta by defeating the undefeated and Number 1 ranked Lee Co. Trojans by a score of 26-7. The game was forecasted to showcase two outstanding defenses and neither unit disappointed, but Northside's offense kept grinding and pounding the Lee defense until two explosive runs in each half by senior QB Tobias Oliver gave the Eagles all the cushion they needed as the Northside D rose to the challenge of this defensive showdown. Lee Co.'s only TD came after they took over deep in Northside territory (14 yard line) following a blocked punt. Kam Burnett and Isaiah Nelson had huge games for the defense. Burnett finished with 10 solo tackles, 2 assists, 1 sack, 3 TFL, and one interception that he returned 72 yards to the Trojan 3 yard line to seal the victory. Nelson had 6 solo tackles and picked off two Lee Co. passes -- one in the endzone to snuff out a drive and returned the other one 52 yards for a touchdown. The Eagles evened their region record at 1-1 and now host the Coffee County Trojans at the MAC on Friday night.
