The Top 10 matchup of the Eagles and the Bears turned out as close as the rankings indicated as Northside won a hard fought contest by the score of 14-7. Both defenses dominated the first 2 quarters as the teams went to the locker room for halftime still tied at 0-0. After a questionable penalty-assisted first down, the Eagles D forced the Bears to punt on the opening possession of the 2nd half, but the Eagles offense was pinned on its on 18 yard line. The Eagles then proceeded to put together an impressive 82 yard / 5 minute drive for the game's first score. David Everett scored a TD from 19 yards out and Chris Barnard added the PAT as the Eagles took the first lead of the game at the 4:12 mark of the third quarter. The Eagles forced another punt and immediately proceeded on its second scoring drive with QB Jacobi Rodriguez scoring on an option play from 15 yards out with 8:24 left in the game. Griffin finally punched a TD across with 2:03 remaining, but the Eagles were able to recover the onside kick and run out the clock to remain undefeated at 3-0 on the season.
