For the second straight game, Byron Hunter scored on the Eagles' first play from scrimmage - this time from 78 yards out to put Northside on the board 13 seconds into the first quarter. The Eagles scored early and often with Hunter adding 2 more TDs (46 & 13 yards) and David Everett (4 yards)and Donshea Simmons (43 yard punt return) one each before the middle of the second quarter. Jacobi Rodriguez ended the Eagles' scoring at 5:58 of the third quarter with a 10 yd TD run. Chris Barnard (4-4) and Jan Oliva (2-2) combined for a perfect night on PATs. With the mercy rule 'running clock' in the 3rd & 4th quarters, the Northside coaches had their hands full trying to get as many backup players as possible into the game before the final buzzer. The 2nd & 3rd team defensive players put the finishing touches on a dominating defensive performance by the first unit by preserving the D's first shutout of the season. The Eagles are now 2-0 and are preparing for huge Top 10 battle on the road versus the Griffin Bears.
